My Three-Step Plan to Securing the Perfect Internship

As a student, I am well aware that gaining experience in my field is crucial to building a successful career. One way of doing this is by getting an internship at a reputable lab, which can help me acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in my chosen profession. To achieve this goal, I have come up with a plan that consists of three actionable steps.
Step 1: Updating my resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn
Before I can even think about applying for an internship, I need to ensure that my resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn are up to date and professionally written. This involves highlighting my skills and accomplishments, showcasing my experience, and ensuring that my profile is optimized for search engines. I plan on completing this task by the end of this week, before my upcoming Saturday session.
Step 2: Applying to BBH, NIH, and NARC
The next step is to identify potential internships that align with my interests and career goals. I have researched and narrowed down my options to three well-known organizations: BBH, NIH, and NARC. My plan is to apply to these internships by the end of next week, before March 31st, 2023.
Step 3: Improving my interview and networking skills
Once I have submitted my applications, I need to focus on improving my interview and networking skills. This involves practicing interview questions with my friends and colleagues, as well as attending networking events to build professional connections. My goal is to complete this task by the following week, before April 7th, 2023.
In conclusion, by following this three-step plan, I believe I will be in a better position to secure an internship at a lab, which will provide me with invaluable experience in my field. I am excited to embark on this journey and can’t wait to see where it takes me.
