Feeling the sudden burst of motivation to procrastinate later on
❓ Why is it that we feel a sudden motivation of “I can do it” and later on we leave things as they are?
❓ Why is it that we enroll in a course to learn a new skill, finish the first module with dedication, and leave the rest for tomorrow which never comes? And if that tomorrow comes, we intend to complete the course rather than learn and understand it.
❓ Why is it that we follow personal growth gurus on Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok; we subscribe to specific YouTube channels and newsletters but instead our time is spent on watching new dance trends, standup comedy reels, cute kittens, daily vlogs, and pranks?
We spent our whole day on useless things (assuming you are a full-time student and currently it is your summer break) consuming instant gratification internet content and during night in the bed, we feel guilty, ashamed, and depressed.
Then we happily fall into another trap of “Tomorrow will be different and productive.” But tomorrow we unexpectedly find an amazing series, a documentary, a reality show, a movie, or a YouTuber giving away iPhone for free.
That is how the cycle keeps repeating itself.
Is there any solution to it? You may be asking this question or wondering why I will be providing a 3 steps guide to success at the end of this blog.
The internet is full of solutions ready to get your money and give you the solution. It is your money do whatever you want but ask yourself
- Why am I doing this?
- What am I losing?
- When will I stop it?
Just write. There is no judge and you do not have to show it to someone so never mind overwriting or cutting or bad handwriting.
Why these questions? Because you already know the solution and you already know what is the right next step. You are your solution. No one from outside can help you. They either want to sell their book or a course. You just have to identify what mistake you are making and why you are making it.
